‘The Natural World’ exhibition opens at River Arts

River Arts in Damariscotta is inviting the public to the opening reception of its newest exhibition, “The Natural World” Friday, April 24 from 5-7 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

Visitors to the gallery will see over 100 works of paintings, drawings, collage, assemblage, sculpture and fine crafts by 100 Maine artists. Artists in the Wiscasset-Boothbay-Damariscotta areas in the exhibition are: James A. Kipfer, Jon Luoma of Alna; John Butke, Mark Reilly of Boothbay; Richard “Dick” MacDonald, Boothbay Harbor; Penny Hinckley of Bristol; Susan Atward, Glenda Drum, Jack Gilmore, Mal Gormley, Jean Harris, Kathi Nordone, Bernice Rosenthal, Polly Steadman of Damariscotta; Barbara Fischer Eldred and Betsy Wind of East Boothbay; John Lorence of Edgecomb; Deborah Schaefer, Anna Shaw, Helen Warner of Newcastle; Elizabeth Palmer of Nobleboro; Julie Babb of Pemaquid; Elaine Reed, Bob Reed and Virginia Forrest of Wiscasset; and Sarah Haney of Woolwich.

Carl Little was the juror for “The Natural World” exhibition. Little is the author of numerous art books, including “Nature & Culture: The Art of Joel Babb” and “William Irvine: A Painter’s Journey.”

River Arts is located at 241 US Route 1, Damariscotta. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
