Lincoln County customers comprised just over 10 percent of Central Maine Power's outages late Thanksgiving eve. According to CMP's website at www.cmpco.com, 78,942 customers were without power in 14 counties, including Lincoln County's 8,905 in the dark.

As of shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday, the county's outages were spread out over coastal and inland towns: Boothbay Harbor had 1,155 CMP customers out; Southport, 1009; Bristol, 2,410; and South Bristol, 1093. Wiscasset, Alna, Boothbay, Dresden, Edgecomb, Newcastle, Westport, Damariscotta, Bremen, Jefferson, Whitefield, Somerville, Nobleboro and Waldoboro all had smaller outages.

In neighboring Sagadahoc County, Woolwich had 881 customers out, about 10 percent of that county's nearly 9,000 outages, according to CMP.

The storm brought the region several inches of snow beginning midday Wednesday. By late evening, the snow was winding down, said meteorologist Michael Cempa at the National Weather Service’s Gray office. Lincoln County would probably not see more than another inch of accumulation, Cempa said. Snow showers could linger Thanksgiving morning, with periods of sun possible in the afternoon, he said.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office had several reports of vehicles sliding off roads Wednesday.
