Penguins at Story Hour

Tue, 01/27/2015 - 11:00am

Our winter-loving friend, the penguin, was the topic of story hour this week at the Wiscasset Library Children’s Room.

We all enjoyed "Lost and Found" by Oliver Jeffers where a penguin shows up at a young boy’s door looking for a friend.

Also read was "Sergio Saves the Game!" by Edel Rodriguez about a very enthusiastic penguin who loves soccer and trains to be the team goalie.

Lastly, "Please Say Please: Penguin’s Guide To Manners" by Margery Cuyler was a fun way for the children to distinguish between good and bad manners when going to a friend’s house for dinner.

After the stories, everyone was excited to create their own penguin to take home complete with heart shaped beak and feet for an early Valentine’s Day craft.

Story hour is at the Wiscasset Public Library at 10:30 a.m. The library is located at 21 High Street. For more information, call 207-882-7161.

All good listeners are welcome to enjoy a few stories and an activity to follow.
