Raymond Croxford Jr.

Raymond Croxford Jr., of Wiscasset, 88, died November 10, 2012.

He was born in Kenduskeag, the son of Raymond Sr. and Mary Ellen (Elwood) Croxford. Raymond attended schools in Dixmont and Carmel.

In 1948, he married his soul mate Minnie Dora Berry of Ashland and the couple resided in Wiscasset, in a home he built. The home was finished in 1954. 

As a young man he went on log drives down the St. John and Arrostook rivers, he also delivered groceries to the logging camps on a bateau and dug wells with his father. Ray dug worms locally and in the mid-1960s, started his own wood business, hauling logs and firewood.

Ray was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman. He will be sadly missed.

Ray is predeceased by brothers Clarence, Lloyd and Lawrence.

He is survived by his son, Wayne Croxford of Wiscasset, daughters, Kathy Croxford also of Wiscasset, Judith A. Levison of New Hope, Pa. and Nancy L. Rudey of Colorado Springs, Colo., several nephews and nieces, grandchildren, a great-grandchild and two cousins from Dixmont.
