A local landmark has drawn the eye of a national network.

Red's Eats, the much-frequented and photographed Wiscasset lobster roll landmark, will soon have a few more cameras pointed its way, owner/manager Debbie Gagnon said.

The longtime Wiscasset eatery will be the subject of Travel Channel cameras on Saturday, May 3, when a film crew will come to Red's Eats.

But, it won't just be the restaurant that's featured, Gagnon said.

“They are going to go all over Wiscasset,” she said. “They're going to film other places in town.”

Gagnon is encouraging patrons to come between 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. on May 3 to be a part of the filming.

“I think this is really going to benefit the town,” she said.

Red's Eats is open for the season. The current hours are 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In late May the restaurant will revert to its summers hours, when it's open from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day.
