Robert Michael Thompson, 64, died peacefully on July 7, 2014 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick with his loving family by his side.

Born on March 26, 1950 in Bath, the son of Stanley G. and Gloria (Albert) Thompson, Robert grew up in Boothbay and attended local schools and was a graduate of Boothbay Region High School. After finishing high school he went on to attend SMVTI now known as Southern Maine Community College. While studying there he earned an associate degree in architecture.

After college Robert went on to work for the state of Maine as a foreman with the department of transportation working specifically with the survey crews. After leaving the state, he formed his own business, Bob Thompson Builders, where he continued his career. He prided himself on his work ethic and was proud of a job well done.

When he was not working he loved playing golf. This was a sport he picked up young in his life and played in both high school and college. It was a sport that he was able to pass down to some of his children as well. He also enjoyed playing chess. He loved to lend a hand and was always willing to lend his expertise to a project no matter how big or small. He also enjoyed taking trips with Barbara and seeing the sights driving down old country roads.

He is survived by his life-long companion, Barbara Wallace of Boothbay; sons, R. Michael Wallace and his wife Rachel of Boothbay, Nicholas Wallace of Boothbay, and David Brewer of Barters Island; daughter, Sarah Campbell of Boothbay; sister, Bernice Bagnaschi, of Meridan, Conn.; granddaughter, Aurora Blair Wallace of Boothbay.
