Robert Panissidi, 63, of Ready Point Road in Wiscasset, died Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta.

He was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 4, 1949, a son of Joseph and Annette (Vitale) Panissidi.

He attended schools in New Jersey and graduated from Tenafly High School in 1967. He attended Fairleigh Dickinson University.  On March 22, 1975 he married Janet Rispoli and was a devoted husband.  He was employed as a Real Estate Agent in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He was also employed as a sports writer for a newspaper in the New York Metro area.  He moved to Wiscasset in 1994.

He loved sports and was a sports memorabilia collector.

He is survived by his wife, Janet A. Panissidi of Wiscasset, one brother, Ronald Panissidi of Oradell, New Jersey, a special nephew, William Panissidi of Oradell, New Jersey and two special cousins, Yvonne Vitale-Brown and Carl Vitale.

He was predeceased by one brother, Carl Panissidi in 1991.

There will be no services.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Wiscasset Fire & Rescue, 51 Bath Road, Wiscasset, 04578.
