Sandra Carol “Sandy” Dickinson died peacefully with her loving family by her side on July 15, 2015.

She was born November 20, 1946, to John Stamplin and Sylvia (Gesner) Stamplin in Middletown, Connecticut.

Sandy graduated from Middletown High School in 1964. She met and married Lee Dickinson in Fort Gordon, Georgia, in 1965 and together they started a family. When Lee went overseas in the military, Sandy moved back to Connecticut and then they moved the family to Boothbay in 1976.

She was a very hard worker, working in the cafeteria in Boothbay schools. She remodeled houses with her husband, lobstered, cleaned area houses and spent her time doing many odd jobs, including upholstering chairs.

Sandy loved and took care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in her home.

Sandy is survived by her mother, Sylvia Gesner of Moodus, Connecticut. She is also survived by her husband of 50 years, Lee Dickinson of Boothbay; her son, Douglas Dickinson and his wife Laurie of Boothbay; her son, Scott Dickinson and his wife Sharleen of Boothbay; her sister, Debbie Ambrose and her husband Jerry of East Haddam, Connecticut; her grandchildren, Brittany Dickinson of Boothbay, Daniel Dickinson of Boothbay, and Ben Dickinson of Boothbay; her nephew, Billy Pokorny of East Haddam, Connecticut; and her great-grandson, Myles Tilton of Boothbay.

She was predeceased by her father, John Stamplin.
