A Wiscasset woman who was previously charged with assault was rearrested on Tuesday, Jan. 20 after she allegedly struck her boyfriend.

Jade Robbins, 25, of Wiscasset pleaded not guilty to domestic violence assault and was placed on probation hold after she allegedly struck her boyfriend inside a gas station in December. Robbins was arrested Jan. 20 by the Wiscasset Police Department.

Wiscasset Police Chief Troy Cline responded to a Gardiner Road address after receiving a call about an alleged assault. When Cline spoke to Robbins, she reportedly said her boyfriend had shoved her in the backseat of a car outside of a Wiscasset gas station on Dec. 13.

Cline was able to interview the boyfriend who said Robbins allegedly struck him in the face in the gas station. Cline was able to get the security footage from the day in question and the footage reportedly showed Robbins striking her boyfriend in the face and knocking his sunglasses off.

Cline spoke with Robbins' probation officer Kevin Buckmore, who subsequently put a probation hold on Robbins.

Robbins was charged with Class D domestic violence assault, which is a misdemeanor charge that carries a maximum sentence of 364 days in jail and up to a $2,000 fine.

Robbins was on probation from an August 2014 assault conviction. Robbins was sentenced to 364 days in jail, all suspended, with probation for a year after she allegedly struck a woman in the face with a beer bottle outside the Schooner Inn in Wiscasset.

In that case, Robbins was originally arrested in March 2014 after she allegedly followed a woman to her car and struck her repeatedly, allegedly causing the victim to lose consciousness after the attack.

Robbins was originally charged with Class A aggravated assault, which carries a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison. Because of her plea deal, the charge of tampering with a witness was dropped against Robbins.

For the alleged December incident, Robbins was booked at Two Bridges Regional Jail on $750 bail, and was ordered to have no contact with the victim. She will have a probable cause hearing March 5 in Wiscasset District Court.
