Senator Dana Dow (R-Lincoln) has announced the local transportation projects included in the Maine Department of Transportation Work Plan for Calendar Years 2018, 2019 and 2020. The estimated value of work in the plan totals more than $2.3 billion and encompasses 2,262 projects across the state.

The Work Plan includes more than $1.4 billion in highway, bridge and multimodal capital work, more than $1.1 billion in highway and bridge projects and more than $296 million in multimodal capital projects.

Among the projects scheduled in Senate District 13 include a bridge replacement on Barters Island Road in Boothbay, maintenance and improvements to Route 127 in Dresden, paving along Route 1 in Waldoboro and intersection improvements in Edgecomb at the intersection of Route 1 Route 27.

Senator Dow is looking into the sidewalk improvement plan on the Bristol Road headed into Damariscotta.

“The fact that the Department of Transportation has chosen to invest so heavily on infrastructure and maintenance within Senate District 16 is encouraging,” said Sen. Dow. “Transportation investments provide a boost to the economy and ensure mobility and reliability within the area.”
