On Thursday, April 13, Wiscasset School Resource Officer Craig Worster arrested a convicted sex offender, Andrew Seddon, 37, of Wiscasset, who had attended the Solo and Ensemble Recital at Wiscasset Middle High School, Wiscasset police said.

Seddon did not have a child or any other relative in the performance; according to Maine State Police, he was convicted in 2005 of Unlawful Sexual Contact, which made him a lifetime registrant in Maine’s sex offender registry.

On April 13, he was arrested for various charges including being in a child safe zone and violating his conditions of release, Wiscasset Police Chief Jeff Lange said in a press release Tuesday.

Lange said it is believed Seddon did not have contact with any child at the school on April 13; anyone who may have information on the incident is asked to contact Lange at the police department, 882-8203, or email him at chief@wiscassetpd.org.
