An 86-year-old Dresden man was found with only minor injuries after being missing in woods off Gardiner Road for about two hours on Oct. 13, a Lincoln County sheriff’s deputy said.

State and local agencies helped the sheriff’s office in Monday afternoon’s successful search that began at about 2 p.m. and ended shortly before 4 p.m.

Sheriff’s Detective Scott Hayden and his German shepherd partner Koda located the man about 400 to 500 yards into the woods, Sheriff’s Deputy Brian Collamore said later.

The man had apparently fallen and was brought out of the woods on a stretcher, but he was talking and his injuries appeared to be very minor, Collamore said.

Dresden Fire Department, the Maine Warden’s Service, the Lincoln County Communications Center and Gardiner Rescue aided the sheriff’s office, Collamore said.
