A 12-foot rowing skiff, built by a marine technology class at Boothbay Region High School, will be auctioned off Saturday, Aug. 2 at the Boothbay Harbor Rotary Auction. Thanks to the generosity of the Rotary Club, all proceeds will be donated to the marine technology program to purchase materials and tools, according to program instructor Chip Schwehm.

This skiff is made with the highest grade materials and finishes. The hull is constructed from okume plywood, Douglas fir and cherry. The seats are composite materials — epoxy and e-glass vacuum bagged around a foam core. The hardware is bronze, and all components are joined with stainless steel fasteners and epoxy. The okume plywood and composite seats make this skiff extremely lightweight, easy to transport, and a pleasure to row. The Echo Bay Dory Skiff features classic styling and was designed by boatbuilder Clint Chase of Biddeford.

Please come out to the auction and sale on Saturday to support the Boothbay Harbor Rotary which does so many positive things for our town.
