Special day of rides at WW&F Railway

Wed, 02/14/2018 - 9:30am

This Saturday, the Wiscasset, Waterville and Farmington Railway Museum will be running trains for the public hourly between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Catch a train from Sheepscot Station (97 Cross Road, Alna) to the northern end of the Railway where you can snowshoe, backcountry X/C ski, hike, join the effort to rebuild the railway over the mountain extension, or simply enjoy a round trip by train through the snow-covered countryside.

A trail system has been marked out for our visitors’ enjoyment. Wear clothes suitable for outdoor adventure or, if volunteering, for woods work. A heated warming hut will be provided at the North end of the Railway. Restrooms will be provided at Sheepscot. For this special event tickets will be sold at a special reduced fare of $5. Tickets will be available at Sheepscot Station beginning at 9:30 a.m. In the case of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled to Feb. 24.
