"Beauty and the Beast" - Disney's new, live-action re-telling of the studio's animated classic with original music and several new songs. This classic fairy-tale story of Belle (Emma Watson), a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast (Dan Stevens) in his castle.
Despite her fears, she befriends the castle's enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast's hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within. The film also stars Luke Evans as Gaston, the handsome, but shallow villager who woos Belle; Oscar winner Kevin Kline as Maurice, Belle's eccentric, but lovable father; Josh Gad plays Lefou, Gaston's long-suffering aide-de-camp; Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, the candelabra; Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, the harpsichord; Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, the mantel clock; and two-time Academy Award winner Emma Thompson as the teapot, Mrs. Potts.
Directed by Oscar (R) winner Bill Condon based on the 1991 animated film, "Beauty and the Beast" is produced by Mandeville Films' David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman, with eight-time Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken, who won two Academy Awards (R) (Best Original Score and Best Song) for the 1991 animated film, providing the score, which includes new recordings of the original songs written by Menken and Howard Ashman, as well as several new songs written by Menken and three-time Oscar winner Tim Rice.
“Beauty & the Beast” is rated PG and runs 129 minutes. It plays at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 16 through Saturday, March 18, Wednesday, March 22 through Saturday, March 25; and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 19 and 26.

Royal Shakespeare Co. “The Tempest” (2 hours, 43 minutes; includes intermission) Shakespeare's story of the betrayal of Prospero; the bookish Duke of Milan who uses magic to try to reclaim what is his from his brother, Antonio. Simon Russell Beale returns to the RSC after 20 years to play Prospero in a production directed by Artistic Director Gregory Doran. Playing Wednesday, March 22 at 7 p.m. and Thursday, March 23 at 2 p.m.
