“Beauty and the Beast”    -  Disney's animated classic takes on a new form, with a widened mythology and an all-star cast. A young prince, imprisoned in the form of a beast, can be freed only by true love. What may be his only opportunity arrives when he meets Belle, the only human girl to ever visit the castle since it was enchanted.

After leaving her small provincial village to find her missing father, the beautiful, independent Belle ( Emma Watson ) encounters a large, horrifying Beast ( Dan Stevens ) living inside a dark, forbidding castle with living antiques as his only companions. As Belle stays more with the Beast, she learns that true beauty is found within.

Cast includes Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston, Kevin Kline as Maurice (Belle’s father), Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts and Ian McKellen as Cogsworth.

“The Tempest” presented by the Royal Shakespeare Co.  -  Shakespeare's story of the betrayal of Prospero; the bookish Duke of Milan who uses magic to try to reclaim what is his from his brother, Antonio. Simon Russell Beale returns to the RSC after 20 years to play Prospero in a production directed by Artistic Director Gregory Doran. Run time: 2 hours, 43 minutes; includes intermission. Plays Wednesday, March 22 at 7 p.m. and Thursday, March 23 at 2 p.m.

Talking Art in Maine, Intimate Conversations: Alan Bray  -  Talking Art in Maine is a series of intimate, one on one conversations between artist, Jane Dahmen, and notable artists and curators who have made a substantial contribution to the arts in the state of Maine.  Alan Bray's meticulous casein paintings are visions "as fine, clear eyed and imaginative as any art of Maine has ever been." Edgar Allen Beem. Presented in partnership with HM Payson, Art Collector Maine, and Maine Home and Design. Thursday, March 23 at 7 p.m. Free!

“La La Land”  -  Mia (Emma Stone), an aspiring actress, serves lattes to movie stars in between auditions and Sebastian (Ryan Gosling), a jazz musician, scrapes by playing cocktail party gigs in dingy bars, but as success mounts they are faced with decisions that begin to fray the fragile fabric of their love affair, and the dreams they worked so hard to maintain in each other threaten to rip them apart. “Lassie Come Home” (1943) the Stories to Screen series.  Our next 4 films in our Stories to Screen series focuses on “Kid Power,” with each of our films having a young boy or girl as the certain of the movie. First off, Lassie Come Home starring Roddy McDowall. Hard times came for Carraclough family and they are forced to sell their dog to the rich Duke of Rudling. However, Lassie, the dog, is unwilling to leave the young Carraclough boy and sets out on the long and dangerous journey in order to rejoin him. Copies of the book are available for free from the Lincoln Theater office.  Playing Saturday,  March 25 at 10 a.m . This is a free event.

“Idomeneo” - The Met Live in HD -  James Levine conducts a rare Met revival of Mozart’s Idomeneo, set in the aftermath of the Trojan War. Jean-Pierre Ponnelle’s classic production, which has its first Met revival in over a decade this season, stars Matthew Polenzani in the title role. Playing Saturday, March 25 at 1 p.m. Run time: 3 hours, 10 minutes; includes intermissions.
