If you are lucky enough to have a sibling, you know he or she can be a lifelong, built-in best friend. They may be more like you than anyone in the world in looks and outlook. And they may have helped shape you and helped you be yourself, and helped you learn, as my sister did and still does.

April 10 is National Siblings Day, according to awarenessdays.com

So let’s hear it for the brothers and sisters who have enriched our lives. In sad or scary times, and the best of times, they are there. And I define fun by my sister. She is so smart, she is naturally hilarious. She also happens to be unquestionably kind, making her, as you hopefully also feel about your siblings, the best the world has to offer.

Go, Wolverines this spring – including the siblings among them. Wiscasset is on track for an eventful spring sports season, according to Phil Di Vece’s previews. So get there to support the teams. They will be giving it their all. Let’s do that as fans.

You might even consider joining the action, in the form of the April 13 alumni meet Di Vece tells us about on page 1. Wouldn’t it be nice if it took off, as an annual event? Like a class reunion, the more who show up, the better it is. So play if you can, and otherwise, whether you’re an alumnus or a newer resident who just wants to support their new hometown, show up.
