Dear Editor:

I am writing to endorse Abby Manahan as exceptionally qualified for Alna’s open RSU12 Board seat.  She brings a wealth of experience in the education field and is extremely thoughtful and measured.  As a certified science teacher, she brings 16 years of educator experience to the table. She has taught in several public schools, developed science and project-based curriculum, evaluated program effectiveness, and been a strong advocate for at-risk students. A common theme throughout her career has been supporting teachers in professional growth. Most recently, she ended four years of service to the Maine Department of Education to return to directly supporting teachers and students with instructional technology in the Boothbay Region schools.

She will be an excellent advocate for all parents and students of Alna, representing them to the broader district known as the Sheepscot Valley Regional School Unit #12.  She is a family friend and I know she will have the best interests of Alna’s children at heart.

Vote Manahan for Alna’s RSU12 board seat.
