Vote June 13

Tue, 06/06/2017 - 4:30pm

    Dear Editor:

Wiscasset's annual town meeting referendum and election is Tuesday, June 13 and I encourage everyone to go out and vote; the polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wiscasset Community Center.  There are 69 questions, plus town elections, a state bond question, and the school budget vote, so be sure to allow time to vote.  Another option is to vote at home with an absentee ballot, but you need to pick that up by Thursday, June 8 at the town office.

As you complete your warrant, please consider that the only way Wiscasset can get a grip on its ever increasing property taxes is by increasing revenues while reducing expenses. To increase revenues we need a strong Municipal Planning Department to work with the Select Board for Wiscasset's economic development; please consider voting “yes” on question 8.  To reduce expenses, we should authorize the school department to proceed with the energy conservation project; please consider voting “yes” on question 69.

For more information on these and other questions, please visit my website www.anderssonforwiscasset.com.
