Vote for Martin-Savage

    Dear Editor:

How thrilled I was to see Katharine Martin-Savage was running for the Wiscasset Board of Selectmen. I have had the pleasure of working with Kathareine on the Board for the Friends of the Wiscasset Library. She served as president and moved so many people to action through successful leadership. Katharine was a valuable resource due to her time spent as a selectman years ago. Katharine Martin-Savage cares about Wiscasset.

“Collaboration” and “cooperation” are words that describe Katharine. In the April 19 decision concerning the pre-schoolers destination for the upcoming school year, the RSU announced that they have chosen Edgecomb over Wiscasset. How did this happen? What does that say about our schools? This speaks volumes about the existing leadership, including the superintendent and the select board. If Katharine were elected for one of the two board seats that are open, she would develop, on an ongoing basis, a relationship with the school board to assure that Wiscasset is not overlooked in these types of important fiduciary considerations.

Leadership cannot come from behind. Leadership stays in front and anticipates the next move.

Katharine Martin-Savage will provide collaborative and cooperative leadership. Whether it is a school issue and/or a tax issue, which should not be exclusive of one another, Katharine will be protecting the residents of Wiscasset.

Positive, collaborative leadership is synonymous with the name Katharine Martin-Savage. Vote on June 13 for Katharine ... Wiscasset's missing piece of the puzzle.
