Wallace H. Brewer Jr., 67, of Boothbay died suddenly on Oct. 11, 2014 at his favorite camping spot in The West Forks after a long struggle with health issues.

He loved camping, fishing and hunting and would play a game of cribbage with anyone willing to take him on. He ran the business of Have Truck Will Travel for over 45 years with his family by his side. He was well respected for his work ethics and his determination to do his very best on each job no matter how large or small it was.

He was an active member of The Knights of Pythias holding memberships with Arcana Lodge #102 in Thomaston and Fort George Lodge #32 of Brunswick. He held the highest office for The Knights of Pythias in the state of Maine as the Grand Chancellor of Maine with his daughter, Donna, by his side from April 2009-April 2010 and he was also an honorary member of The Maritimes.

He is survived by his beloved wife Linda of 48 years who was his very heart and soul; his four children, Donna Gregory of Jefferson and her husband, Marty; Barbara (BJ) Warlo of Boothbay; James Brewer of Port St. Lucie, Florida and his wife Angel; Chester Brewer of Boothbay; a very special “adoptive daughter," Kareen Nelson of Boothbay; seven grandchildren, Patrick Gregory of Nobleboro and his wife Kristie; Timothy Gregory of Jefferson, Amylynn Balsdon of Boothbay and her husband Tyler; Chelsea Copeland of Boothbay Harbor and her husband Paul; Daniel Lewis of Wiscasset and his wife Kathy, Stephanie Brewer and James Paul Brewer of Port St. Lucie Florida; three great-grandchildren, Slade Balsdon of Boothbay, Bailey Lewis of Boothbay Harbor and Jayden Copeland of Boothbay Harbor; several nieces and nephews; a very special sister, Anna Morton of Ocean Point; and special neighbors that are always with the family in heart and soul.

He had three special “non-human” members of his family: Ginger, his beloved beagle who always rode with him and most times on the dashboard; Bandit, his kitty who used to sleep on his pillow most nights; and Happy, his mouthy African Gray Bird who told him to shut up every morning.

Friends and family are invited to a gathering at Hall's of Boothbay on Friday, Oct. 17 for visits from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Pythian Service at 7 p.m.

The staff of Hall’s of Boothbay, 975 Wiscasset Road, Boothbay is caring for the family. You are invited to share your condolences with the Brewer family by visiting their Book of Memories at www.hallfuneralhomes.com.
