Walter A. Dodge

Walter A. Dodge of The Villages and Jacksonville, Florida, died June 10, 2012 after a brief illness. He was 71.

Born in Rochester, New Hampshire to Richard and Alice Dodge, Walt enlisted in the Coast Guard in 1957 and retired after 30 years of dedicated service as a Lieutenant Commander.

He was a member of Al Amin Shrine in Corpus Christi, Texas, and Aurora Lodge of Masons in Rockland, Maine. Walt and Linda traveled extensively during retirement and loved spending time with family and friends. He was loved by all who knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Linda Woodward Dodge, formerly of Boothbay; daughter, Kelly Durante and son-in-law John; granddaughter, Kendall Durante; a sister, Ruth Zaprzalka of Cayce, South Carolina; nieces and a nephew.

Interment will be held in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia at a later date. Services are under the direction and care of Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home, Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
