Lots of speed warnings issued

Monday, April 11

Officers Benjamin Kolko and Nadine Crossley and Sergeant Alfred Simmons issued warnings for speed.

Crossley spoke to a citizen about some concerns the person had about things that were going on in the neighborhood; and investigated suspicious activity at the Wiscasset Clipper Mart.

Tuesday, April 12

Crossley investigated a case in which a citizen wanted her to listen to a phone message he had received; and investigated a bad check in the amount of $10 at Huber's Market.

Crossley and Simmons responded to a person who wanted a dispute with his neighbor documented.

Wednesday, April 13

Crossley responded to a caller who had questions about renewing his weapons permit; and responded to a burglar alarm at the former primary school. The alarm was tripped in error.

Crossley investigated a concern about a door being open at an abandoned house on Pinewood.

Simmons responded to a civil complaint by a person who said his property has been posted by his neighbor; and acted on police information that a subject was carrying marijuana in her pocketbook or somewhere in the truck, and the owner of the truck hoped they would contact him to pick up the vehicle rather than have it towed. Simmons could not locate the subject.

Simmons responded to a call that there was an open door at the Sea Basket. It was a basement door.

Thursday, April 14

Simmons was involved in a motor vehicle accident at the Irving Mainway on Bath Road with another vehicle shortly after midnight. Sergeant Matthew Day and several others responded.

Crossley investigated a complaint of children riding bikes and throwing eggs between 5 p.m. And 10 p.m. every night at the Wiscasset Elementary School. Asked for police presence to let them know this is not acceptable.

Crossley investigated a possible threatened suicide at the Dunkin' Donuts on Bath Road. The caller said that a 50-year-old man came in to the restaurant and told her he was going to kill himself. He drove across the street to the Irving Mainway. A Lincoln County sheriff’s officer then said that the man left and turned southbound. He tried to catch up with him, but advised Sagadahoc Sheriff's Office about the situation, and asked Crossley to check parking lots in Wiscasset since he had lost contact.

Friday, April 15

Officer Steven Smith responded to a complaint of copper taken from Mason Station.

Smith responded to a burglar alarm at England Arts on Main Street. It was accidentally triggered by someone taking photos for the company's insurance company.

Kolko investigated a possible unpermitted burn on Willow Lane; and investigated a possible theft of a guitar from a car parked outside Rock, Paper, Scissors. The guitar turned up at home.

Kolko issued two warnings for inspection, one for defect, and two for speed; assisted a parolee from out of state with some papers that needed to be signed; investigated a possible propane fill left open at Ames Hardware; and investigated a report of a loud sound, like dynamite, on Alna Road.

Matthew Temple, 20, of Wiscasset, was arrested on a warrant for Operating After Suspension.

Saturday, April 16

Kolko issued a warning to a motorist without a valid license from another country. The passenger was told that the driver could not drive the car without a license and she needed to inform her company of that.

Officer Levon Travis investigated a report of a vehicle off the road near the power lines. The plate was not on file.

Travis investigated a complaint of missing drugs at the Sheepscot Bay Apartments.

Crossley served on a special detail at a road race.

Travis issued a warning for speed.

Travis investigated suspicious activity when a neighbor was concerned that a stranger was entering her neighbor's house. It was her son, bringing food to his mother's refrigerator. Later, another truck meeting the same description was located, selling meat legally.

Sunday, April 17

Crossley responded to a dispute over the sale of a dirt bike.

Kolko issued a warning for speed, two warnings for defect, and a citation for unregistered motor vehicle.

Kolko responded to a call about an unwanted subject on Old Dresden Road. The caller's ex-husband was in the garage as she left and she wanted him removed. Kolko could not find the individual.

Monday, April 18

Kolko issued a warning for speed and one for defect.

Simmons responded to a welfare check for an elderly driver who appeared to be slumped over in the seat. The vehicle was gone when Simmons arrived.

Simmons issued a citation for attaching false plates, operating a vehicle with an expired license, and failure to register a vehicle. The vehicle was towed.
