It’s pizza season again in town! Starting Memorial Day, Squire Tarbox is tempting us with custom-made pizzas to-go or dine in from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday nights. Lots of choices of toppings, sauces and regular or gluten-free crust. The inn will also offer a choice of salad and a few other antipasto appetizers, as well as soup and/or dessert. Give a call to 207-882-7693 to place your order. Come and relax with a glass or wine or beer while waiting. The inn suggests calling by 5 p.m. to place your order.

Folks are looking forward to the Morris Farm Spring Plant Sale this Saturday, May 30, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (Route 27, next to the Primary School). Veggie seedlings, culinary herbs, beautiful perennials, and more will be available. The Plant Sale is famous for heirloom tomatoes, and this spring Wiscasset High School students have grown 17 varieties!

The Farm’s Master Gardeners will there to answer horticultural questions and help with your planting plans. All good so far, right? Better yet, all proceeds from the sale will go to the farm’s educational programs! Questions: call 207-882-4080 or email info@morrisfarm.org.

Two “recycling” events are coming up the following week: A composting workshop on Friday, June 5, 8:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Morris Farm, and a free e-waste collection, Saturday, June 6, 8 am to noon at Lincoln County Recycling, Huntoon Road, Wiscasset.

Lincoln County Recycling is teaming up with the Morris Farm and Maine DEP to present the composting workshop. The presentation will discuss the county’s recycling programs including “food scrap recycling,” aka composting; recent outreach efforts to individuals and organizations; the composting process, with do’s and don’ts; and backyard composting and collecting.

For the e-waste day on June 6, items accepted at no charge are televisions (all sizes), monitors, printers and cartridges, laptops, game systems, CPUs, digital cameras, speakers, cell phones, remotes, microwaves and more. Give a call to the county 207-882-6311 or to recycling, 207-882-5276 if you’d like more info.

Hoping your marking your calendars for the town votes in June. On Tuesday, June 9, the RSU 12 budget will be voted on by all towns in the district. Voting will take place from noon to 8 p.m. in the Town Hall (absentee ballots are already available). Town meeting vote for local elections will take place Friday, June 26, noon to 8 p.m. at the Town Hall, with the regular Town Meeting beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 27. Absentee ballots for the elections will be available this next week from the Town Clerk.

It is kinda fun, repairing the yard from winter’s wear, tucking new seedlings into neat rows, and sowing mayhem with wildflower seeds. A little more rain, warmer days will also be nice!
