Andrew Wyeth exhibition “Witches, Ghosts and Mischief” at the Farnsworth in Rockland:  “ ... Responding to the annual cycle of death and rebirth, Wyeth blended carefully observed details with his imagination and memory. Great Pumpkin Hunt - Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens - 1-3:30 p.m. - The search for the golden gourds begins at 1 p.m. sharp. Prizes! Followed by games, pumpkin decorating, music by 14-year old fiddler Owen Kennedy; and the announcement of the winner of the scarecrows. Free. Donations for Boothbay Region Food Pantry will be collected: Bring a non-perishable food item or two if you can! Rain date: Sunday, Oct. 27. 132 Botanical Gardens Drive, BOOthbay. FMI: 633-8000.

Railway Spooktacular - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wear costumes and bring your trick or treat bags. Ticket prices include train rides, bounce houses, carnival games, face painting, crafts, pumpkin decorating, the creepy touch table, dino dig, and  ... trick or treating! Tickets at the gate: $10 for ages 4 and up; children 3 and under - free! Rain date: Sunday, Oct. 27.

Costume Party! - Mine Oyster - Pier One - BOOthbay Harbor - 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. with the Dave Gagne Band. Costume parade and awards begin at the witching hour, midnight!

Sunday, Oct. 27

Trick or Treat Street - Alna on Dock Road, between Routes 218 and 194. The road will be blocked from traffic for the event, 2-4 p.m. Trunker participants: arrive between 1:30 and 1:45 for set up with or without a vehicle. All vehicles should face west. All are welcome, including new participants. Trick or Treaters: arrive between 2 and 4 p.m. Park on either end of Dock Road.

Wednesday, Oct. 30

Trunk or Treat - Hosted by Boothbay Baptist Church. A free, family-friendly event  at Boothbay Region YMCA, 261 Townsend Ave./Route 27, BOOthbay Harbor from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Field House. Bounce houses, face painting, free hot dogs and chili. Treats will be handed out and more will be on decorated tables. Kids and adults are welcome to come in costume! FMI: 633-7378

Halloween Potluck & Scary Readings - Opera House - BOOthbay Harbor - 86 Townsend Ave. Please note: this event is not designed for young children. This annual favorite begins when the doors creak open at 5:30 p.m. Bring a dish and serving ware to share, your own dishes and cutlery. Dinner at 6. Scary readings begin at 6:45 ... and who knows how many of the resident spirits will be floating about ...

Thursday, Oct. 31

Annual Halloween Parade - Costumed kids, parents and/or caregivers gather on the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library lawn, 4 Oak St., at 3:45 p.m. Parade and trick or treating through town begins at 4 p.m. Route: from the library to Bath Savings parking lot to Union Street. Traffic cones will cordon off parking for a larger pedestrian walkway. FMI: 633-3112

Nightmare on Federal Street - Wiscasset’s night of kid-friendly fun! Halloween parade: 4 p.m. in the elementary school parking lot; at 4:30 p.m., the costume party with live music kicks off! Music continues through the block party with food, trunk or treat ... and the costume contest! Event wraps up around 6:30 p.m. All events are weather permitting.
