WHMS continues Thanksgiving tradition

The students and staff of Wiscasset Middle High School were generous for this year’s Turkey Thyme Food Drive. The amount of food collected by the high school student council was so abundant, we were able to help many local families celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday!

This is an awesome event to involve students in. Many students who don’t have much will donate something such as a can of veggies or some stuffing mix. This event gives all our kids a chance to be involved in helping others and giving back to their community.

The student council delivers much of the food collected to food insecure families. The seventh and eighth grade do a “turkey trot” to the Nazarene Church Food Pantry right across from the school. Helping others is such an important piece to having a strong and supporting community. The student council thanks everyone one who contributed and made this year’s Turkey Thyme a real success!
