A Wiscasset man who was arrested earlier in the month on drug trafficking charges has been rearrested after allegedly violating the conditions of his release.

Chad Breton, 33, of Wiscasset was originally arrested by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office June 26 and charged with unlawful furnishing in scheduled drugs, then again on June 28 when he was charged with unlawful trafficking.

On Saturday, July 19 Breton was rearrested by Wiscasset Police Officer Perry Hatch after Hatch acquired information about a meeting at an Old Bath Road residence with a man (Breton) who was not allowed to be at the house.

One of the three people at the house was Tara Balducci, who was on bail and subject to random searches, Hatch wrote.

Upon entering the house, Balducci said that besides another woman present there was no one else in the house. Hatch reported that he heard a sound and found Breton in the home's bathroom.

Breton was arrested and charged with violating the conditions of his release which stated he was to have no contact with Balducci.

Breton's initial charge claimed that he allegedly furnished suboxone, a schedule W drugs, and reportedly trafficked subutex, which is also a schedule W drug. The furnishing charge is a Class C crime, while the trafficking charge is a Class B crime.

Class B crimes carry a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and or a $20,000 fine, while Class C crimes carry a sentence of up to five years and or a $5,000 fine.
