Wiscasset Police Blotter: Damage to washing machines

Wiscasset Police Dept. entered the following in its log for March 2-8, including 74 property checks and securing the properties and eight paperwork services among various other services:

Alarm, burglar

Chief Troy Cline checked on a alarm he found false on Flood Ave. , which possibly was an accidental trip because of plow vehicle on site.

Patrolman Alfred Simmons checked on an alarm at Coastal Electronic, Inc. on Gardiner Rd., which required no action.

A false alarm went off at a Cushman Point Rd. residence, which motion on the first floor tripped.

Simmons checked on an alarm going off at Wiscasset High School found to be new wing motion causing it.

Reserve Patrolman Harrison Wiegman found an alarm false on Birch Point Rd. due to living room motion.

Wiegman checked on an alarm tripped at Wiscasset School Annex on Gardiner Rd. at which custodian reported windows and doors all secure.

Assist other agency

Sgt. Kathy William investigated an incident reported by Sagahahoc Sheriff’s Office concerning a male subject who left Montsweag Roadhouse intoxicated and driving with a girlfriend who was also drinking. She reported he was upset when he left and she was afraid his would assault her.

Burglary

Patrolman Perry Hatch rendered services to a Chewonki Neck Rd. resident, who reported burglary at her home.

Criminal mischief

Chief Troy Cline investigated an incident reported at Wiscasset Laundry Mat on Bath Rd. concerning the breakage of three handles on three large washing machines. After viewing tapes at the business, a summons was issued to former employee Scott R. Colby, 44, Wiscasset on a charge of Criminal Mischief.

Domestic disturbance

Reserve Patrolman Michael Elwell, Reserve Patrolman Mark Walsh, and Dep. Mark Bridgham investigated a domestic incident reported at an Evergreen St. residence. According to both parties, husband and wife, the dispute was all verbal.

Harassment

Reserve Patrolman Harrison Wiegman rendered services to a Borski’s Way resident who complained about a neighbor putting snow at the end of his driveway with his lawn mower plow and going onto other neighbors' property also.

Juvenile problem

Patrolman Perry Hatch rendered service to Wiscasset Middle School concerning a truancy issue.

Motor vehicle accident

Chief Troy Cline rendered services concerning a two-car accident at Wiscasset Dental on Churchill St. One vehicle backed into another.

Cline investigated a two-car accident on Water St. at Wiscasset Family Medicine parking lot.

Cline investigated an accident on Rt. 1 near Shaw’s Supermarket in which a white utility vehicle struck a side mirror on a mail carrier’s vehicle and continued driving. Utility vehicle driver pulled into Ames Supply where driver reported he was not aware he had struck the other vehicle. Information was exchanged with the other driver.

Cline investigated a two-vehicle accident on Gardiner Rd. (Rt. 27) near Wiscasset Community Center. One of the two pickups was on its side, and one of the drivers was taken to Miles Memorial Hospital.

Patrolman Alfred Simmons and Reserve Patrolman Scott Lovejoy investigated a two-car accident on Fowle Hill Rd. at the intersection of West Alna Rd.

Reserve Patrolman Harrison Wiegman issued a warning for improper license plate color on Fowle Hill Rd.

Wiegman issued a citation for insurance and warning for defect on Main St. at Water St.

Wiegman issued a warning for defect and window tint on Rt. 1 near Wiscasset Fire Dept.

Wiegman issued a citation for insurance and warning for defect and failure to notify state of address change on Alna Rd.

Simmons issued a warning for defect on Rt. 1 near Ames Supply.

Reserve Patrolman Dominik Lobkowicz issued a warning for speed on Alna Rd.

Lobkowicz issued a warning for defect on Main St. at the intersection of Pleasant St.

Kolko issued a warning for speed on Main St. at the intersection of Summer St.

Reserve Patrolman Michael Elwell issued a warning for speed on Bradford Rd.

Elwell issued a warning for stop sign violation on Fore St.

Shoplifting

Patrolman Alfred Simmons investigated an incident of shoplifting at Family Dollar on Bath Rd. A caller reported things taken and made a description of the vehicle the subject and what he was wearing but the license plate number given did not match the description of the vehicle.

Suspicious activity

Chief Troy Cline investigated suspicious activity reported at the Wiscasset transfer station on Fowle Hill Rd. concerning a vehicle parked at the gate, which was abandoned and in damaged condition. Wrecker was called to remove the vehicle and a permanent order was served to Kevin Brewer, registered owner of the vehicle.

Reserve Patrolman Harrison Wiegman investigated an incident reported at Garden Island Cleaners on Bath Rd. (Rt. 1) resulting in summons issued to Robert L. Thomas, 61, Wiscasset, on a charge of Operating While License Suspended or Revoked.

Wiegman checked out a vehicle observed in the parking lot at Sheepscot Bay Apartments with two different license plates.

Reserve Patrolman Dominik Lobkowicz investigated an incident reported at Wiscasset Raceway on West Alna Rd. concerning a break into the tire barn by the pit gate, which occurred between Sunday night and Monday night.

Patrolman Alfred Simmons investigated an occurrence reported at Sheepscot Bay Apartments on Federal St. concerning two males, residents of the complex, sitting in a pickup with blaring music and doing drugs. One of them, a juvenile, got outside the pickup and smoked a cigarette. No one was seen around the vehicle, and complainant was interviewed.

Theft/forgery/fraud

Patrolman Perry Hatch investigated an incident of a theft of credit cards from a vehicle reported at Wiscasset High School.

Welfare check

Chief Troy Cline tried to no avail to locate owner of Debra Elizabeth’s on Main St. as the door was open and lights were on but no one was present at the time of the report.
