Wiscasset Police Blotter Dec. 31-Jan. 6

Chief Jeff Lange reported the following activity for the week of Dec. 31, 2017 to  Jan. 6, 2018:

Accident

On Jan. 2, Robert Moers, 52, of Winthrop was driving a gray 2008 Chrysler van and waiting to pull onto Route 1 from the Clipper Mart parking lot when James Abbott, 55, backed a 2016 Mercedes van out of a parking spot and struck the rear of Moers' vehicle.

From Dec. 31 to Jan. 6, there were 69 calls for service. Seventeen were traffic and/or vehicle-related. Nine were assists to other agencies, or welfare checks. One was a report of the sinking of the minesweeper in Wiscasset Harbor. One was a drug investigation, three were theft investigations, and the remainder were assistance to citizens or administrative issues.
