    The Wednesday evening pot roast supper was a yummy success as we celebrated a September birthday with homemade cupcakes iced with chocolate buttercream and sprinkles. Happy Birthday Gail Burke!

    The next community supper on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 5 p.m. will be the annual lobster feed complete with fish chowder, corn, mussels, biscuits and blueberry cake for dessert. The cost for this meal is $12 for one lobster and $18 if you want two. Reservations for the lobster supper must be made by noon on Monday, Sept. 18 by calling 882-8230. Chicken, at the usual price, is available as an alternative entree but must be specified with the meal reservation. Please note that if you've made a meal reservation but cannot attend the meal, please call 882-8230 to cancel your reservation.

    Wiscasset Parks and Recreation invites all to come to meet with director Lisa Thompson for “Lunch with Lisa” beginning Monday, Sept. 25 from noon to 2 p.m. This is a monthly lunch and brainstorming session on how Wiscasset Community Center can better serve the older adults in the community. Monthly speakers that can provide information about local resources for seniors will also be featured. The cost for lunch is $8 for residents of Wiscasset and $10 for non-residents, with a minimum of six participants and a maximum of 50. To get an accurate head count, reservations for “Lunch with Lisa” must be made by calling 882-8230. Future dates include Mondays, Oct. 30, Nov. 27 and Dec. 18.

    Mark your calendars and keep these dates for future community suppers including New England boiled dinner on Wednesday, Oct. 4 and prime rib on Wednesday, Oct. 18.

    CHANS Home Health and Hospice will be on hand on Oct. 18 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. for a flu clinic. Insurance or a suggested donation of $25 will be accepted.

    The cribbage scores for Tuesday, Sept. 5 were Stuart Wyman first (830), a tie for second with Reid Hodgdon and Sally Sherman (825), a tie for third with Ann Merry and Bob Gilman (807), Diane Robinson low score (692) and Ann Merry high hand (24).

    The cribbage scores for Thursday, Sept. 7 were Nancy Wright first (830), Cindy Douglas and Reid Hodgdon split second and third (826), Robbie Greenleaf low score (638) and a tie for high hand with Marlene Rines and Marge Pooler (24).
