Lemual, Lyric and Finley Blake are out of hospitals and back home on Wiscasset’s Foye Road, where they continue their comeback from illness, the triplets’ aunt confirmed Feb. 16.

The three, born Dec.  13 to Abby and Bryan Blake, were premature and caught a respiratory illness that hospitalized them; their treatments included medically induced comas and reliance on machines to breathe, family members have said. The brothers, Lemual and Lyric Blake, came home from Maine Medical Center in Portland the week of Feb. 6; Finley Blake, hardest struck by the illness, had been transferred Feb. 3 to a Boston hospital. She came home Feb. 14, Bragdon wrote in email replies to questions Feb. 16.

“Great Valentine’s present ... She is doing well,” Bragdon wrote about her niece’s return home and continued recovery. Bragdon described her sister as thrilled, and working hard to keep germs out of the babies’ way; their premature births impacted their immune systems’ development, family members have said.

The three remain on nebulizer treatments at home and go to checkups in Portland, Bragdon wrote.

As of Feb. 16, an online fundraising campaign toward costs stemming from the illness listed 44 donations totaling $2,135. To visit the site, search www.gofundme.com for the Blake triplets or find the link on Bragdon’s Facebook page.

So far, donations have gone toward minimum payments on the most important bills, according to Bragdon. Bryan Blake’s lost work to help his wife, and costs of Finley Blake’s Boston transfer, have added to the struggle, she wrote. The family has left fliers at local businesses to aid the fundraising effort, she added.
