Woolwich selectmen look at Nequasset Dam valve today
Woolwich selectmen, fish commissioners and the contractor working on the fish ladder at Nequasset Dam will be looking at an old valve at the dam at 4 p.m. today, Woolwich Town Administrator Lynette Eastman said.
The selectmen are not expected to take any votes or conduct business other than observing the inspection, Eastman said in a telephone interview Wednesday afternoon.
But the public has to be notified, and members of the public can attend if they wish, because a majority of selectmen will be there, she said.
The Wiscasset Newspaper received an announcement at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday that the majority of selectmen would be present.
The valve has not been having a specific problem of late but the town was interested in having the contractor look at it along with doing the ladder work, Eastman said.
