James Goodwin Bowden III of Vero Beach, Florida and Capitol Island, formerly of Weston, Massachusetts, died April 19,2015 after a long battle with cancer and dementia.
Born in Worcester, Massachusetts on May 24, 1933 to James Goodwin Bowden II and Mildred Smith Bowden, Jim attended the Bancroft School and graduated from Deerfield Academy and Middlebury College. He attended Babson Graduate School and served in the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant.

Natalie Ann Morrison Freeman, 88, known as Nancy, died on the morning of April 15 at the LincolnHealth Miles Campus in Damariscotta.
She was born on June 18, 1926 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of George L. Morrison and Natalie Hansen Morrison. She grew up in Merion, Pennsylvania, studied piano from an early age, and attended Shipley School.

Rufus H. Caswell Jr. of Edgecomb died peacefully on April 19 at his own home where he wanted to be, watching the sparkling water of the Sheepscot River and surrounded by his loving family.
Rufus was born April 5, 1919 in Bath, the son of the late Rufus Sr. and Elizabeth Herbert Caswell.

David Henry Clark, 82, of Orono died April 15, 2015 at a Bangor hospital.
He was a longtime summer resident of Juniper Point, Boothbay Harbor, a treasurer for the Juniper Point Village Improvement Society, and a member of the Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club.
He was born Oct. 20, 1932 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, son of William Henry and Faye Rebholz Clark.

The Honorable Kenneth Alan Honey died on April 15, 2015 at the Gregory Wing portion of St. Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor, where he had been a resident for over three years. He was 83 years of age.
Ken was born in Bangor on March 6, 1932, the second son of Earle Sr. and Ethel (Leach) Honey.

A. Louise (Lent) Rice, 71, of Brunswick died April 14, 2015 at Skolfield House in Brunswick where she resided with her husband.
She was born Aug. 12, 1943, the only child of John E. Lent and Dianna (Lavallee) Lent. She attended St. John’s School and was a graduate of Brunswick High School.

Evelyn Amelia Hartung Keene, 107, died in Brunswick on April 11, 2015.
She was born in Boothbay Harbor on Aug. 3, 1907, the daughter of Clifton Ernest Hartung and Ina Emma Greenleaf Hartung of Boothbay Harbor. She had an older brother Harold who died when he was 12 years old.

Dorothy M. Doucette of Boothbay Harbor died peacefully, with her family by her side, on April 6, 2015.
Dorothy was born Sept. 8, 1922 in Medford, Massachusetts to Stanley and Dorothy (Spencer) Bailey. She attended local schools and went on to graduate from the Massachusetts School of Art with a bachelor’s degree in art.

Maud Page, 89, of Boothbay Harbor, died peacefully with her family by her side on April 3, 2015.
She was born Feb. 12, 1926, the daughter of the late Sam and Ruth Wylie. Maud attended area schools before marrying Weston “Cracker” Page and starting a family.
In addition to helping with her husband’s local business, Page’s Men's Store, she served as a notary public and bookkeeper for the Boothbay Harbor Town Office for many years.

Arthur was born on Jan. 17, 1955 to Freeman and Ellen (Banks) Rand. There will be no services. Burial will take place at Pierce Cemetery in Southport.

Charles H. Stevens Sr., 85, died April 4, 2015 at his home in Topsham.
He was born Aug. 9, 1929 in Gouldsboro to Bernice Keith and Nicholas Stevens. Charles was raised by his mother and stepfather, Douglas Young Sr. He grew up in Gouldsboro and attended local schools. He joined the U.S. Army in 1949 and served in Korea during the Korean War.

Donna Jean Winchenbach Berkeley, 72, died of brain cancer on March 30, 2015 at Sussman House Hospice in Rockport.
She was born in Waldoboro on July 11, 1942, daughter of Carl and Anna Winchenbach. She attended Waldoboro schools and graduated from schooling in Boston, then went on to become a nurse.
On January 9, 1966, she married Gordon Dale Berkeley and had two children.

Harry Johnston Scruton, 86, of Aiken, South Carolina and Ocean Point, died March 27, 2015.
The son of Harry W. and Alice (Hunt) Scruton, he was born April 21, 1928 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. A graduate of Ridley College, St. Catherines, Ontario, he also attended Drew University.

William Brownlee Welsh, a former resident of Sawyer's Island and a former vice president of the Boothbay Region Land Trust, died March 24, 2015, in Springfield, Virginia. He was 90.
Welsh joined BRLT’s board of directors in 1987. Two years later, he took on a leadership role as the trust’s vice president. He served as vice president until 1996 when his term on the board expired.

Randy N. Pearce, 68, of Walpole died unexpectedly March 16, 2015 at Maine Medical Center.
He was born in Boothbay Harbor on March 6, 1947.
Randy worked as a sternman, clam digger and on an offshore fishing boat.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Virginia Pearce; two brothers, Danny and Shawn Pearce; and a son, Shannon Pearce.

Maureen Kay Hynes of Edgecomb died at home on the morning of Feb. 18 after a brief illness, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and devoted husband of 45 years, Michael Hynes.
Maureen was a loving wife, incredible mother, and enchanting "Cha Cha" to her grandchildren. She was quick to smile and laugh, forever compassionate and loyal, and a cherished friend. All who had the pleasure to know her will dearly miss Maureen.
