Jeannine Harrington died peacefully on Oct. 23, 2016 at her home in Bayville.
She was a graduate of Boothbay Harbor High School, Class of 1946. On Jan. 11, 1952, she married Edwin Harrington, the love of her life, and together they raised two children; Ed Harrington Jr. and daughter Trudy Mayhew, both of Boothbay Harbor.

He was the loving husband of Barbara (Folland) Abbott with whom he shared 18 years of marriage.

Charles D. “Toots” Lachapelle, 83, of Winthrop, died Oct. 20, 2016 at Togus Springs Hospice after a long illness.
Charles was born May 4, 1933, the son of Dillian (Currier) and Fred Lachapelle.
He attended Winthrop schools and Nasson College in Springvale. Charles served in the U.S. Army and was a front line medic in the Korean War. In 1961, he met the love of his life, Gerene Beaulieu. They married in September of 1962 and spent 54 wonderful years together.

Gloria (Hesphelt) Carlson, 95, of Bethlehem, Connecticut died peacefully at her home on Oct. 19, 2016 surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after a brief illness. She was the widow of John Carlson.

Charles “Charley” Edward Parker of St. Augustine, Florida died Oct. 16, 2016 at the Bailey Hospice Center five days after his 87th birthday.
Charley was born in Rockville Centre, New York on Oct. 11, 1929. He was the son of Ralph C. Parker and Mildred H. Parker. He grew up on Long Island and in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Dennis Irving Reed of Jacksonville, Florida died Oct. 16, 2016.
He was born February 26, 1940 and raised in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. This is where he developed his love of the water. He did a stint in the Army, but decided the water was better suited for him, so he joined the Coast Guard. He met Sharon Reed in New Jersey and it was a case of love at first site. He asked her to marry him three days later and they were married about two months later. They were married for 52 years.

She married Paul Sherman on Oct. 19, 1945. They had three children, Paul Sherman, Peter Sherman and William Sherman.

Brian F. McKenna, 73, of Boothbay Harbor died Oct. 11, 2016 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
He was born Oct. 8, 1943 in Hartford, Connecticut to Robert and Ruth Halladay McKenna and grew up in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. He attended two years of college before before joining the U.S. Navy from January 1964 to December 1967 having served a tour of duty in Vietnam.

Barbara H. Kammerer, 93, died Oct. 10, 2016 at Wilmington Health Center in Wilmington, Massachusetts.
Barbara was born to Clayton and Mildred Hilliard on December 21, 1922 in Arlington, Massachusetts. Following high school graduation, she attended Pierce Secretarial School, and became a legal secretary. She and her sister, Beverly, we're both members of the Order of Eastern Star.

Christopher Dean Whittaker, 58, of Woolwich died Sept. 30, 2016. He died doing what he loved, fishing for striped bass at Small Point. He had caught a legal size striper when he was found; the hook was still in the fish.
He was born on April 4, 1958, a son of Clyde and Madelyn (Dunton) Whittaker.

Gilbert Jean Charbonneau, 73, died on the morning of Sept. 26, 2016, at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta.
Born in Walhalla, North Dakota on Jan. 9, 1943, he was the son of Armand and Marianne Charbonneau. He was a beloved brother, husband and uncle. Gil loved and cared for all around him.

Duane H. Dunbar, 69, died Oct. 1, 2016 at his home in Boothbay Harbor.
He was born June 28, 1947 in St. Johnsbury, Vermont to Harold J. Dunbar Jr. and Barbara Moore Dunbar. Duane grew up in Barnet, Vermont and graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy. He graduated from Bentley University with a B.S. in accounting.

Robert R. Potter, 85, of Boothbay, died Sept. 29, 2016 at the Hill House (Hospice Care) Facility in Bath, Maine.
He attended Brown University and received his B.A. degree in 1952.
He was indoctrinated into Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island. Upon graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant during the Korean War.

Michael Philip McGonegal, of Burlington, Vermont, born Jan. 24, 1969, died on Oct. 1, 2016.
He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Patricia McGonegal of Acton, Massachusetts, and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Alexa McGonegal, Kevin and Danielle McGonegal, and Joseph McGonegal and Emily Walsh, along with five loving nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Charlotte Irma Harold Druce, 92, died Sept. 25, 2016 in the Gregory Wing, St. Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor after a 12-year struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Charlotte was born Jan. 24, 1924 in Roxbury, Massachusetts to Raymond and Myrtle Rice Harold. Charlotte graduated cum laude in 1944 from Mount Holyoke College with a major in physics/astronomy.

Douglas E. Peaslee Sr., 86, of Jefferson died September 23, 2016 in Jefferson at his daughter Shirley’s home, where he was surrounded by family.
Douglas was born April 13, 1930 in Somerville to Guy and Leola Benner Peaslee. Douglas grew up in Somerville and attended local schools. He started working in the woods at the age of 13.

She was a homemaker and resident of Irving, Texas for 33 years.

Ethel Cecile Stover, 83, of Sand Hill Road, Wiscasset died Sept. 10, 2016. The daughter of Paul J. McCarthy and Helen Pappas Hume, she was born in Hartford, Connectitut moving to Maine in her teenage years.
Ethel worked for the late Dr. John Andrews as office manager for 30 years in Boothbay Harbor, and previously had been postmaster of Wiscasset and of Edgecomb.

She was born in Neustadt a.d. Weinstrasse, Germany on Oct. 27, 1927 to Heinrich and Paula Albrecht. She grew up amid the turmoil of World War II. She is known for her speeches to local schools and civic groups of life during that period.

Howard Singer, 90, of Houston, Texas and a longtime summer resident of Spruce Point, Boothbay Harbor, Maine, died Sept. 10, 2016.
He was born May 15, 1926 in Larchmont, New York.
A Navy man during World War II, he was pre-flight at North Carolina University until the war ended, and he completed his college years at Duke and Yale, where he played football and earned his degree in engineering before settling in Houston.

Nancy Bass Wolfram, who died Aug. 23, 2016, was born to Catherine Forbush Bass and George Henry Bass, 2nd, in Brockton, Massachusetts because the town doctor at home in Wilton, Maine had left for military service. Nancy returned to Wilton days later when able to travel. Her father, himself born in Maine, liked to comment that, although not a Maine native, she had many relatives and friends in the state.

Dale Jeffery Stone died Aug. 22, 2016.
He was born Feb. 2, 1994 in Brunswick to Jeffery Burnham and Dixie Stone.
Dale grew up in Boothbay and attended local schools. He was a “jack-of-all-trades” and worked doing various odd jobs, including auto mechanics and carpentry. He enjoyed fishing, four-wheeling and listening to music.
