  • Graveside service for Harold Robinson

    A graveside service and burial for Harold “Robbie” Robinson, 88, of Boothbay Harbor, who died peacefully in his sleep on November 28, 2015, will be held Friday, July 29 at 10 a.m. at the new Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta. A motorcycle escort by the Legion Riders will be escorting Robbie for his Last Ride from the American Legion Hall in Boothbay, leaving at 8:30 a.m. Anyone wishing to be in the procession is welcome.

    She was the wife of the late Rev. Edward W. Bradley. Mother of Karenlynne Bradley of San Leandro, California, Marsha A. Burt and her husband Robert of Bourne, Massachusetts, and Faith B. Armstrong and her husband Scott of Bedford, Massachusetts; sister of the late Gloria Tirrell. Marion is also survived by nine grandchildren and11 great-grandchildren.

    Dr. Stella Clifford Gray, 96, of East Boothbay, died peacefully on May 31, 2016. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 5 p.m. at the East Boothbay Methodist Church, Two Church Street, East Boothbay. All are welcome.

    In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Stella’s name be made to the Boothbay Region YMCA, P.O. Box 500, Boothbay Harbor, ME 04538.

    Stephanie Berry

    On a warm summer’s day at the end of June, Stephanie Berry peacefully ended her lifelong battle with depression. She separated from her only child, William, her friend and former husband, Tom, and her cat, Panda.

    Stephanie was born in Hanover, Pennsylvania and attended schools in Avon Lake, Ohio. She graduated from Kent State University with a degree in interior design. She was very proud of her years marching drum corps, competing at the national level, with the Garfield Cadets.

    Theresa Evelyn (Dutile) Call of Waterville, Maine, formerly of Northfield, Massachusetts and Lemoyne, Nebraska, died with her daughters by her side on July 2, 2016.

    She was born February 1, 1930 in Marlboro, New Hampshire to the late Etienne (Stephen) Joseph Dutile and Emeline Virginie (Boyea) Dutile. Her father died when Theresa was 5. She was lovingly raised by her mother and stepfather, Charles Lerandeau, “Daddy Charlie.”

    Alice Bond, recently featured in this paper as the oldest resident of Woolwich, died June 22, 2016 at St. Andrews Village Nursing Facility, Boothbay Harbor after a short illness.  She had been admitted to Miles Hospital for congestive heart failure and then sent to skilled nursing services in Boothbay Harbor to recover.  Alice was 96.

    Michael J. Lewis, 67, died June 16, 2016 at his home in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Mike was born to Earland “Peanut” Lewis and Etta (Rowe) Lewis on July 2, 1948 in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, and attended local schools.

    Mike worked at the Tugboat Inn, Fisherman’s Wharf and Andrews’ Harborside, as well as working as a custodian at Boothbay Region High School.  He also worked for his father, Erland “Peanut” Lewis at the Gulf station downtown.

    He was born in Blakley, Georgia, the son of Eleanor Smith Waters and Robert O. Waters. Bill attended high school in Frederick, Maryland and graduated from Blakley High School. He won a scholarship and studied at the High Museum School of Art in Atlanta and studied painting under Lamar Dodd at University of Georgia in Athens.

    Arthur grew up the oldest of four children. In 1944, after finishing his first year of college, Art was accepted into the Army Air Cadet Program. Following completion of his service, he re-enrolled at the University of Rhode Island where he earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering.

    She was born in Houlton, Maine in August of 1931.

    Marie was the eldest of three children born to Racheal and Paul McNally. Marie met and ultimately married her childhood sweetheart, Joseph O. Callnan on January 23, 1948 in the Church of St. Mary’s in Houlton.
