March 2015

Dear Participants

Welcome to the 41st YMCA/Rotary International Girls Basketball Classic. We are pleased to have you as part of our outstanding field of teams. This year’s event will kick off the 4pm on Friday March 6th and will run through Sunday March 8th with the championship game scheduled for around 5pm. This year we will have 8 teams entered and will play 14 games by the time we finish.

Several things as a reminder: We do have a concession stand that will be open throughout the weekend. The concession will be run by volunteer students and staff in our Youth center all the proceeds will go toward the YMCA Youth Sports program

We will hold a Hot Shot contest prior to each of the team’s first round game, so each team will need two players to represent their team (see attached rules).

It is important that you remember that this is a double elimination tournament, but NOT THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. Once you reach this point one game will decide the champions.

The girl’s tournament is held at the Boothbay Region Elementary School located across the street from the YMCA on Friday and Saturday and will move to the YMCA on Sunday. When you get to the school, ask for Jason Lorrain or Laurie Dickinson who will check you in and give your team members ribbons. They will also answer any questions you may have. Please confirm uniform numbers and game information at this time, so your team will be ready to play.

Please be here on time for all your games and if we can be of help please call. Also, remember if you have to cancel for any reason, your entry fee will not be returned if we can not find a replacement team.

If you plan to stay over on Friday or Saturday night, the Flagship Inn 633-5094 is a short distance from the YMCA.

Sincerely,

Ed Crocker
