8/18 Community Lobsterbake and Art Show at The Lincoln Home
Join us on Saturday, August 18, 4:00pm, for the third annual Lobster and More event! Peruse the “Art Under the Tent” while enjoying fresh oysters from the Damariscotta River, delicious h’ors d’oeurves, and a locally brewed beer or cold drink. Twenty one talented Maine artists will exhibit work in a variety of mediums for sale in the Art Tent. Professional artists and photographers include: Jim Amaral, Valerie Borgal, Marcia Brandwein, Sandra Leonin Dunn, Steve Dunn, Brenda Erickson, Virginia Forrest, Kathleen Horst, Hannah Ineson, Chris Jones, Will Kefauver, Ruth Monsell, Lea Peterson, Marc Poirer, Amy Puleo, Sarah Lynn Richards, Rebecca Shorb, Marnie Sinclair, Polly Steadman, Kim Traina and Susan Zimmerman. Vote for your favorite artist in the “People’s Choice Awards” and cash awards will be given to the top three artists you choose. A portion of the art sold, along with all ticket sales, will help support the Financial Assistance Fund at The Lincoln Home for residents who have outlived their financial resources.
Dine on delicious Maine lobsters, mouth-watering barbecue chicken, and Maine blueberry desserts overlooking the Damariscotta River next to the Lincoln Home. The evening’s festivities include Maine bluegrass band, Sandy River Ramblers, known for their gorgeous three part harmonies and lively music for dancing. Bring your summer guests to join in the fun and meet some of the great people we have in our community.
Advance tickets are suggested, at $45 per person for lobster or chicken, $50 per person for both lobster and chicken, and children under age 10 are free. Call to reserve yours at 563-3350.
The Lincoln Home is grateful to many community sponsors who, through generous donations, in kind donations and a number of volunteers’ hours make the evening possible. Come out and join us for a lively evening of fun, fine food, lively music and professional artwork all in a beautiful setting, 22 River Road, Newcastle.
