Boothbay Region YMCA announces launch of Y Virtual

Since March of 2020 and the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Boothbay Region YMCA has been working to expand its offerings from the traditional in-person exercise classes to virtual. This was a necessary move to ensure that the Y was able to continue to help the greater Boothbay community stay healthy over the course of the past year. The Y began this process by switching its in-person group exercise classes to Zoom and began to develop a library of on-demand workout videos that could be accessed from anywhere.

Over the past four months, the Y has been developing a new site called Y Virtual that will conveniently house all its Zoom classes, workout videos and more. Y Virtual will be available to all Boothbay Y members, only requiring a barcode to login. This platform was developed due to COVID-19 preventing members from coming to in-person classes. As an organization that impacts the community, this new medium of healthy living classes ensures everyone has access to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Y Virtual will go live on April 5 and will be available through the Y’s main website, boothbayregionymca.org
