Newcastle Vacation Rentals, celebrating 20 years of helping people find and enjoy the perfect Midcoast Maine vacation home, has launched a new state-of-the-art web portal to help make the search and reservation process even easier. NVR represents more than 100 privately owned vacation homes, summer cottages, and traditional camps in a variety of fresh and saltwater locations throughout the Pemaquid and Damariscotta Region.
Guided by manager Tanya Blodgett, company owner and President Dennis Hilton, who is committed to staying on the cutting edge of technology, invested in this new state-of-the-art platform to make managing their many properties and the corresponding availability calendars simple and straight forward. The portal offers a live reservation calendar, just like HomeAway or VRBO, allowing visitors to check availability and receive a price quote instantly, and to then book and pay online. The site provides easy access to information about local area activities and attractions and provides answers to frequently asked questions. The new site also allows the NVR staff to feature select properties on AirBNB, for owners who wish to advertise and offer short-term stays through that service.
Renters and property owners alike benefit from Newcastle Vacation Rental’s personal touch. Check-ins and check-outs are done at the rental office located at 277 Main Street, Damariscotta (same building at Cheney Insurance). “We offer the same online experience as the big vacation rental players but with a local presence and real, live people to help you when needed,” explained Tanya Blodgett. “We know our inventory and can give you a description or answer questions because we have been to every property.”
Tanya Blodgett and rental assistant Tyler Dobson manage the website, prepare property information packets with tourist activity guides, and are on hand weekdays to welcome visitors and answer questions. Exceptional customer service is the cornerstone for making the renters’ stay a great experience, and if any issue arises, an NVR staff member is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by phone, text, and email to problem solve. Hilton adds, “We are not only available for emergencies or repair issues that arise, we will also deliver canoes, picnic tables, grills, and kayaks in order to help make a great vacation complete.”
When listing a vacation property with NVR, property owners receive a nicely designed webpage showcasing photographs and property features that make the rental unique. Owners can access their account online through the new portal to view their income statements and calendars.
