letter to the editor

Agrees with Joe

    Dear Editor:

Joe Gelarden was absolutely right in all the points he made in his open letter to Gov. Mills in the Feb. 21 edition.

The MDOT plans another costly, needless change in the local culture, this time at the Barters Island bridge ... “It ain’t broke ...” - but, most of the highways in Maine are in deplorable condition.

How about some attention paid to the ruts, the chasms (a.k.a. potholes), the dangers, of these heavily-used roads?

And the schools you mention? Worthy causes, all.

I hope his letter has a lasting effect.
