Damariscotta Police Blotter: Hit and run, and Rite Aid struck again

Tuesday, May 13: Officer Jason Warlick took possession of found property.

Warlick responded to School Street on a report of a two vehicle motor vehicle accident involving John A. Komorowski, 54, of Damariscotta who was operating a 2013 Toyota and Jennifer S. Clark, 45, of Bristol who was operating a 2003 Hyundai. Komorowski was traveling North on School Street while Clark was traveling South on School Street. Clark crossed the center line and struck Komorowski’s vehicle in the door and bed causing him to go off the road and strike a telephone pole. Clark left the scene of the accident. She was subsequently arrested for leaving the scene of an accident, driving to endanger and texting while driving. She was also arrested for operating under the influence by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Mark Neary, 40, of Orono was summonsed for passing a stopped school bus by Warlick.

Warlick took a report of a theft from a local business.

Warlick responded to Great Salt Bay Community School on a report of a parking problem.

Warlick and Officer John Sylvester responded to Miles Memorial Hospital to assist with a patient.

Wednesday, May 14: Chief Ron Young responded to Tri-Bay Laundry on a report of suspicious activity.

Young responded to Heater Road on a report of suspicious activity.

Warlick responded to a report of an erratic operation.

Amanda M. Wallace, 31, of Bristol was summonsed to court for theft by Warlick.

Officer Tyson Fait assisted Miles Memorial Hospital with getting blue papers signed on a patient.

Deputy Chief Chad Andrews conducted a pedestrian check on a subject on Main Street.

Thursday, May 15: Warlick assisted Waldoboro Police Department with delivering a blood kit to Miles Memorial Hospital.

Warlick assisted Miles Memorial Hospital with a LifeFlight.

Warlick dealt with a juvenile problem at Great Salt Bay Community School.

Young took a report of a theft.

Officer Devin Polizzotti responded to a report of an erratic operation.

Polizzotti responded to Jackie’s Trail on a report of an unwanted subject. He issued a trespass notice to the subject.

Polizzotti responded to N.C. Hunt Lumber on a report of suspicious activity.

Michael Walker-Welsh, 28, of Damariscotta was arrested for violation of conditions of release by Polizzotti.

Andrews and Polizzotti responded to Jackie’s Trail on a report of trespassing.

Friday, May 16: Warlick responded to the Damariscotta Fire Department on a report of suspicious activity.

Warlick took a report of harassment.

Warlick responded to Main Street on a report of a three vehicle motor vehicle accident involving Tori W. Plummer of Brunswick who was operating a 2003 Subaru, Judith P. Ribeiro of Round Pond who was operating a 2007 Toyota and Stephanie E. Farrin of Boothbay Harbor who was operating a 1998 Chevrolet.

Christopher R. Chickering, 22, of Bristol was summonsed for speeding on Lessner Road by Sylvester.

Sylvester attempted to locate a subject with negative contact.

Andrews and Sylvester responded to Willow Lane, along with CLC Ambulance, on a report of a medical emergency.

Matthew J. Backman, 40, of Damariscotta was arrested for violation of a protection from abuse order by Sylvester.

Saturday, May 17: Officer Mark Graham responded to a local law office on a report of a burglar alarm. It was tripped in error.

Graham responded to Main Street on a report of a burglar alarm. It was tripped in error.

Graham took a report of a possible burglary.

Sunday, May 18: Officer Michael Elwell responded to the Rite Aid parking lot on a report of a motor vehicle accident involving Diane D. Poland, 74, of Bristol who was operating a 2006 Buick. Poland pulled into the parking space and failed to apply the brakes striking a wooden column support of the Rite Aid building.

Elwell responded to Church Street on a report of a burglar alarm. The alarm was defective.

Elwell responded to Route 1 on a report of a disabled motor vehicle.

Corey E. Johnson, 25, of Friendship was summonsed to court for possession of marijuana and sale and use of drug paraphernalia by Polizzotti.

Monday, May 19: Tracy L. Kaler, 47, of Newcastle was summonsed for operating with an expired license and operating an uninspected motor vehicle by Young.

Young took a report of a theft from a local business.

Sylvester responded to Barstow Road, along with CLC Ambulance, on a report of a medical emergency.

Sylvester responded to Theatre Street on a report of a two vehicle motor vehicle accident involving Lillian M. Plummer of Damariscotta who was operating a 2002 Subaru and Paula S. Benne of Whitefield who was operating a 1997 Subaru.

Corey A. Cookson, 32, of Bristol was arrested on fugitive from justice charges by Polizzotti.

Nicole Brann, 20, of Bristol was summonsed to court for operating without a license by Polizzotti.

Damariscotta Police Department responded to 173 calls including motor vehicle stops, arrests, calls for service, etc. during this one week period of time.
