Boothbay’s Early Bird Sale & Pajama Party is offering some fantastic shopping options and discounts, even for the night owls among us! That’s right, this Saturday, Nov. 21, our community will be out for a bit of holiday and/or personal shopping. comfortable as can be in pajamas. It’s tradition. It’s all part of the fun.
Now the PJ’s – from Union suits, to onesies with feet, nightgowns and two piecers – are usually topped by warm bathrobes for the cold. And sometimes there are sleeping or shower caps! Friends and family shop together, often in matching sleeping attire. But slippers, from Birkenstocks and novelty socks to elfin footware, to slippers with animal heads from ducks, birds, piglets and cows, are where it’s at. This year, Early Birders will add masks to their special shopping ensembles. It will be interesting to see who has masks to match their jammies. Remember to observe each store’s COVID-19 limit on the number of shoppers permitted at one time. Just look for the signage.
Some business owners are going traditional with the best sales between 6 and 9 a.m.; others are opening for their regular store hours with all day sales; some are holding sales Friday and Saturday; others are having website sales, for example, Two Salty Dogs: When the clock strikes midnight, online sales begin with 40% off between 12:01 and 4 a.m.; 30% off between 4 and 8 a.m. and 15% off from 8 to 11:59 a.m. The shop will be open its regular hours.
