Mitch Boucher will be holding two benefit concerts this summer. The concert, “An Evening of Baroque Keyboard Music,” will consist of common forms of dance music for keyboard as well as Boucher’s own music.
Two events will take place a week apart, with the first concert being Friday, July 26 at the Damariscotta Baptist Church and the second will take place on Aug. 2 at the Edgecomb Community Church. Both begin at 6:30 p.m. with a brief lecture and will conclude with a reception. A suggested donation of $5 per a person is recommended, and procced will go to mission outreaches for both individual churches.
Mitch Boucher (b. 1994) is a composer heavily interested in music from the Baroque ear (1600-1750). He began organ lessons with Sean Fleming, studying with from 2008-2013 while attending Lincoln Academy. Upon his acceptance to the University of Southern Maine, he studied piano with Anastasia Antonacos from 2014-2015. Also in 2015 he began composition lessons under Daniel Sonenberg, completing his studies in 2018. In addition, he has studied harpsichord with Rat Cornils from 2015 to 2017, and continued with Margaret Harper from 2017 to 2018.
