Fishin’ For Fashion returns!
Event has passed
Local models will walk a runway wearing the latest in nautical haute couture in the seventh Fishin’ For Fashion show on Saturday, June 18 at Bristol Marine/The Shipyard, 120 Commercial St., Boothbay Harbor at 2 p.m.
Since this event debuted during the former annual Harbor Fest in 2014, designers of all ages have been setting their imaginations free, much to the delight of the public. The event was featured in Maine Magazine in 2019 and has been on Maine news stations.
All designs take form using only fishing industry materials and gear and, if you’ve never been to this fashion show, you can only imagine what the clothing might be like. Time to change that, because they are outstanding, one-of-a-kind garments. There are always surprises, beyond the designs, thanks to emcee Michael Maxim and twins Andy Bielli and Adele Savastano of Slick’s Boutique.
Tickets are on sale now – $30 general admission, VIP seating (front row) $50 – at Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce, 192 Townsend Ave. and at boothbayharbor.com, and you’d better get yours today! Then at event time, park your car and walk to the shipyard, located between Tugboat Inn and Dunton’s Doghouse.
