Hair Express goes purple for prematurity
Hair Express in Walpole invites current and future clients for a day of pampering to benefit the Maine Chapter of the March of Dimes on Saturday, May 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Purple hair streaks for $10 will be offered to support prematurity awareness upcoming March for Babies around the state.
Salon specials and services for the whole family will be offered including manicures, haircuts and color. Free head massages, giveaways and snacks will also be offered.
The March of Dimes works in Maine to prevent premature births, birth defects and neonatal death through programming, research advocacy and education. The March for Babies walks are hosted in Augusta, Bangor-Brewer, Houlton, Lewiston-Auburn, Penquis, Portland, Rockland and Saco-Biddeford in May.
Hair Express will be donating part of their proceeds from the day to Team Garron for the March for Babies.
Garron Martin, born to Wiscasset residents Aubrey and Dan Martin, died in 2009 due to prematurity.
