The Organ Society of First Congregational Church, 28 High Street, Wiscasset welcomes Jim Nelon on Wednesday, March 27 at 7 p.m. The event is open to the public.
Nelon will be talking about his two books, “Pursing a Dream” — one on Indonesia and one on the Philippines.
While Nelon was working in Hong Kong for eight years, he traveled throughout Asia, recording stories and taking pictures and videos of the amazing people he met. His goal was to seek out examples of society very different from his Midwest upbringing. He slept on mats on the floor, ate whatever was provided, and experienced happiness, inquisitiveness and acceptance by strangers in remote lands. Can you imagine how humanity could live without smartphones? Without technology? Beyond electricity?
Join us for an intriguing and inspirational presentation on the wonders of these Asian peoples.
