AUGUSTA — The Maine CDC has updated its list, June 4, of COVID-19 cases in the state of Maine.

Today, there are 2,446 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases across the state, including 2,181 confirmed cases and 265 probable cases. 

Across the state, 1,739 people have recovered from COVID-19, while 95 people have died. The number of people hospitalized, at some point during their illness, across the state stands at 291.

Looking at hospital COVID-19 data, there are currently 35 hospitalized, including 14 in critical care and 17 on a ventilator. There are 147 available critical care beds out of 398 total and 236 available ventilators of 315 total and 441 alternative ventilators. 

By sex, 1,254 females have tested positive in the state and 1,192 males have tested positive.

The below cases represents the number of full-time Maine residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Maine CDC. 

“This is likely an underrepresentation of the true number of cases in Maine since not all individuals are being tested,” the Maine CDC says. “For individuals not considered to be at high risk, medical providers are currently advised to diagnose COVID-19 based on symptoms.” 

Each day, the Maine CDC updates its COVID-19 data on its website with the latest coronavirus numbers from across the state. Today’s update came at 12:10 p.m.
