Lincoln County Community Theater (LCCT), the theater company in residence at Damariscotta’s historic Lincoln Theater, is putting the finishing touches on their fall production! Under the direction of John Mulcahy, LCCT will present eight performances of “Halfway There” a comedy by Canadian playwright Norm Foster. Join us Thursday, Nov. 17 through Saturday, Nov. 26, for this live, fully staged, feel-good comedy from the most-produced playwright in Canada. “Halfway There” will envelop you in a familiar warm hug that shares the relief of finding your people.
LCCT’s production of “Halfway There” brings audiences to Rangeley, Maine a small town located halfway between the North Pole and the equator, where not much changes from day to day for its small population of just over 1,000. Janine, a waitress at the local diner, is joined for a late afternoon coffee, every day at the close of her shift, by her closest friends, Vi, Rita, and Mary Ellen. When Sean, a heartbroken doctor, moves to town to take a temporary job at the local clinic, the four friends start to wonder – have they found everything they’re looking for in Rangeley? As relationships develop and secrets are revealed, this heartwarming comedy proves we can all get by with a little help from our friends.
“Halfway There” stars a cast of five local actors, wrangled by Stage Manager Abbi Bickford. Mallory Adams, recently seen in LCCT’s spring performance of “Bright Star,” plays Janine, the waitress at the local diner who is supported throughout the production by her three closest friends - Vi, played by LCCT newcomer Carole Florman, and returning from “Hair Frenzy,” Nanette Hennig Fraser as Rita, and Jennifer True as Mary Ellen. Soren Barker rounds out the cast portraying the charming doctor who shows up to tip the small town off its axis.
