American Legion Post 36 is holding a special fundraising brunch Sunday, Aug. 30 for a local family whose 8-year-old son is fighting a rare form of leukemia.
The brunch will be held at the Legion hall, Industrial Park Road, Boothbay (off Route 27) from 8 to 11 a.m.
Jesse Richey is the son of Robert and Natasha Richey. He has been undergoing medical treatments in Scarborough since March. While most of their medical expenses have been covered by insurance, additional expenses need to be covered, such as car issues, special diet needs and more.
A suggested donation of $10 will be asked at the door on the morning of the brunch. All proceeds from the brunch will go to the Richey family.
