Opera House-Boothbay Harbor: Andrew Duhon Trio May 12

Event has passed

Andrew Duhon is a songwriter from New Orleans, a teller of stories with an undeniable voice, weighted ... soulful.  Duhon has released three recordings, the latest of which, ‘The Moorings,’ was nominated for a Grammy in 2014 for Best Engineered Album. He has toured solo for much of his career, and that troubadour element is certainly present, an usher of modern-day folklore.

Although Duhon has toured solo for much of his career, he will play the Opera House at Boothbay Harbor on Friday, May 12 in a 7:30 p.m. show with upright bassist Myles Weeks and drummer Jim Kolacek. This is the Trio’s first appearance at the Opera House - and the band’s only Maine appearance.

Wrote Alyson Camus, rock nyc: “Duhon’s music is deeply attached to the folk tradition, bringing Americana-injected melodies, sung with a twang in the voice and resonating like heartfelt stories...but there was something very sincere, down-to-earth and uplifting in these songs, although anchored in a real tradition...totally connecting with the public and giving us the complete and unique live performance.”
