You are invited to the sharpen up your game skills at bridge, Mahjong and other board games at the eighth annual P.E.O. Games Day fundraiser on Friday, June 28 from 1-4 p.m. at the Inn at St. Andrews Village, 145 Emery Drive, Boothbay Harbor. Proceeds from the event will provide loans, scholarships and continuing education to area women pursuing advanced study.
Games Day is held annually by Brunswick Chapter G of P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization), an international group of women that celebrated the 150th anniversary of its founding this year. There are 6,000 chapters in the U.S. More than $315 million for college and certification assistance has been provided by the organization.
“Our members are passionately dedicated to supporting women in their educational pursuits,” says Sally Adair of Phippsburg, Chapter G president. “All funds raised by our Games Day event go directly to financial educational assistance for women in our local communities. Games Day is a great way to enjoy your favorite games with new and old friends while supporting a worthy cause.”
Come to Games Day as a foursome or as an individual. Tickets to participate are $15 each and include dessert and beverages throughout the afternoon.
