Sunday, July 6 is the 32nd Annual Sheepscot River Race. Start time is 10 a.m. for this six-mile canoe and kayak race from Newcastle at the Route One Rest Area Bridge, to the Wiscasset waterfront; one of the most scenic Maine paddling race courses, with four miles of moving water meandering through beautiful protected marshes and riverbanks.

The race is part of the Maine Canoe & Kayak Flat Water Racing Series. Awards and refreshments will follow the race at the Wiscasset waterfront. This race is organized and run by Seaspray Kayaking with prize donations by several local businesses. All pre-registered participants will receive a Sheepscot River Race T-shirt.
